Providing person-centred care programmes for adults, who either through social or economic circumstances are in need

The Beneficial Foundation helps people to be 'the best they can be'.  We provide training and rehabilitation to those that have either missed out in mainstream education or need help with social skills.

History of The Beneficial Foundation

The Beneficial Foundation was established in 1979 as a registered training organisation within the City of Portsmouth and became a registered charity.  The Foundation provides training to disadvantaged adults (post 16) with special educational needs through route-to-work training.

The Foundation successfully developed a course within the fields of Commerce & Industry and Independent Living called ‘Steps to Success’. Through the course’s successes, it continued to grow and develop and in 2010 the Foundation became a recognised City & Guilds Centre. From this the course then evolved into Pathways for Opportunities, a foundation learning course encompassing personal social development, vocational training as well as functional skills; Maths, English and ICT.
